Worship Teams

Worship Ministries and Teams

There are many wonderful worship and music opportunities offered through Central Baptist Church. From the weekly worship services to a wide variety of choral and instrumental groups, these UPWARD efforts are designed to glorify God as we use our gifts and talents to lead others to praise Him.

Gathering Worship Team

The Gathering Praise Band leads worship at The Gathering Worship Service in the Sanctuary at 9:00 AM. The band consists of (but is not limited to) guitars, drums, keyboards, and vocals. The Gathering Praise Band is led by Ethan Njezic.

Chancel Choir

Our adult choir that shares their vocal gifts weekly in our traditional 11:00 AM Worship Service as well as special programs and concerts. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15 PM in the Music Suite. Directed by Tony Martin.

Using their instrumental talents, adults and youth combine to support the worship time at our 11:00 AM Traditional Service, and accompany choral concerts.  Rehearsals are Wednesday nights 6:45-8:00 PM in the Orchestra Room.  Directed by Rachel Cox.

Joy Choir

Our senior adult choir is open to all adults 50+. They enjoy a warm fellowship and sing the second Sunday of each month in the 11:00 traditional worship service. The group is directed by Tony Martin, and sings regularly for community ministries, leads Easter worship in area nursing homes, and takes an annual tour. Tours have taken the group throughout Tennessee and to Virginia, Kentucky, North and South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.

Graded Children's Choir

During the school year, we offer graded choirs for children ages 4 through 4th grade on Wednesday nights as a part of our KIDServe program.

Tony Martin directs Central’s three bell choirs. The Jubilee Ringers (adults) ring for worship, community outreach and participate in festivals each year. The Jesus’ Jinglers (youth) ring periodically for worship and take an annual tour. The Praise Ringers (children) enjoy making music together and learning about music, worship and handbells. All of these groups enjoy great “community” through the opportunities they receive to share the love of Jesus and the awesome nature of God through their music.

Highest Praise

Our adult vocal ensemble that assists in worship and performs around the region.  Directed by Anne Elliott.

This brass ensemble is by audition only and performs special selections in worship and other programs.  Directed by Rachel Cox.
