PEACE BY PIECE QUILT SHOW

Fundraiser at Central for Ukraine

September 30 & October 1, 10 AM - 4 PM

Everyone is invited to join us as we think about piecing together our resources to promote peace in the world and share generously with Ukraine refugees through Samaritan’s Purse. There is no charge for this event - donations will be accepted online at cbcjc.org/ukraine, mailed in, or dropped off at the church office.

FROM THE MISSIONS COMMITTEE

Thanks to your generosity through regular giving, you have allowed the Missions Committee to send a donation of $5,000 to Holston Habitat for Humanity for the upcoming Women Build on East Myrtle. Ladies, we need you for this Women's Building - either as an individual or as a group (Sunday school class, Bible study group, friends and family).

Sign up online today at holstonhabitat.org/womenbuild; the cost is $25 per participant. Build dates are Oct. 12-15, Oct. 19-22, Oct. 26-29, and Nov. 2-5. If you cannot help with building, you can still volunteer by providing meals for 15-20 participants during construction. Contact Mandy Penz to sign up for a meal and/or questions at volunteer@holstonhabitat.org or 423-239-7689, ext 801

TRUNK OR TREAT

Join us Sunday, October 30 at 4 PM for our annual Trunk or Treat! We’ll need help with greeting, replenishing candy, serving food and (of course) trunks to give out candy! You can sign up to volunteer by clicking here. For more info, email Helen at hkern@cbcjc.org. Candy donations are also much appreciated!

NEW DISCIPLESHIP GROUP BEGINS OCTOBER 5

I encourage you to take advantage of a new Discipleship Group that begins Wednesday, October 5 at 6:00 PM in Room A-105. I will be leading a discussion on What is the Mission of the Church?: Making Sense of Social Justice, Shalom, and the Great Commission. This book by Kevin DeYoung reminds us of what we are to be about as believers. I do hope that you will join me! The books are at no cost. What a bargain!
